Kurt Brown is passionate, driven and has more than 30 years of experience in the restaurant and hospitality industry.
Brown began his career in 1985, as manager of a casual steakhouse chain. After ten years, he joined a different restaurant company as director of operations. Brown always admired the culture of the industry, developing a reputation for delivering genuine hospitality as well as putting emphasis on the importance of company culture, and the growth of the community.
In 2015 Brown and his wife moved to Punta Gorda to escape the frozen winters of northern Indiana and accepted a job as manager of Scotty’s Brewhouse. Since their arrival, the couple has been active in the community volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and sitting on the board for the Charlotte County College Culinary Program. Additionally, Brown became the treasurer for the Fishermen’s Village Merchant Association and has made Punta Gorda his forever home.
As a lifelong restaurateur, Brown has always dreamed of owning his own establishment. His favorite thing about managing Village Brewhouse is having the ability to operate locally while focusing on the community around him. Brown’s ultimate goal is to provide his guests with a taste of Southwest Florida utilizing superior service with local craft beers and signature dishes.
